AURORA PROVIDES BILLING SOLUTION FOR BREWERY GIANT’S TELCO ARM

BUSINESS OBJECTIVE

Marston’s Telecoms was set up in 2008 to generate savings for the group through purchasing communication services on a wholesale basis from Openreach. Historically Marston’s had always bought telecommunications from external suppliers. However, Marston’s felt this restricted its ability to monitor costs across an extensive estate of numbers.

The company was looking to implement a fully managed billing platform that enabled them to sell telecommunications directly to their national chain of pubs, whilst improving profits, service levels and closely monitor its costs.

BUSINESS OUTCOME

Aurora’s Affinity billing software solution gives Marston’s a flexible and scalable platform, which supports Marston’s aggressive and demanding growth plans. Marston’s is now selling telecoms to other pub companies, as well as some key corporate customers. Marston’s Telecoms has plans to grow into a powerful reseller within both the hospitality and wider telecoms industry and Affinity is its chosen billing platform to achieve this.

Marston’s is the UK’s leading independent pub retailing business, owning 1600 pubs and employing over 13,000 people. Marston’s is also the world’s largest brewer of cask ale and has been brewing beer in one form or another for over 180 years. However, the brewer is perhaps not yet so well known for diversifying into telecommunications, with its own corporate communications business – Marston’s Telecoms.

Aurora has worked with Marston’s since 2012 to provide a comprehensive billing platform that has delivered accurate and efficient billing support, whilst growing its telecoms business and increasing its selling opportunities.
